The locals call these the 'acid racks'. They were used to fill trains with chemicals for the munitions facility that used to operate here during WWII. It's here, in the 'TNT Area', where Mothman is believed to have first been sighted.
The munitions facility was abandoned after the end of the war. It is now the McClintic Wildlife Management Area, a superfund site.
Inside one of the probably hundreds of 'Igloos' that still remain out here. They were used to store explosives during the war.
Exterior of the collapsed igloo. See the center group of trees in the middle of the wetland? The igloo was hidden underneath them.
A love letter to Appalachia
My name is Jade Meadows, and just over
three years ago I began work on Blue Ridge Hunting, a co-op horror game
set in Appalachia. Shortly after starting development, I began my transition, and moved to
southwestern Virginia to focus on Blue Ridge Hunting full-time.
Since moving to Virginia, I've driven thousands of miles through rural Appalachia. I've listened
to folks recount old family stories, traveled underground into forgotten coal mines, and sat
suspended underneath the New River Gorge Bridge. These experiences and adventures inspired the
Appalachia depicted in Blue Ridge Hunting. This game is a love letter to the region that was
my home during a difficult time in my life, and an exploration of its history, people, and painful
scars of the past.
This photo gallery documents my travels through the Blue Ridge as I explore the many real-world
locations that will be available for you to experience. I will be updating the gallery periodically
with new locations—you can follow me on Bluesky to stay up-to-date.
I hope you enjoy.

Co-op Appalachian Cryptid Hunting
Blue Ridge Hunting is an online co-op
horror game. You and up to 4 friends will investigate, document, and hunt cryptids in the
Appalachian Mountains of eastern America. Based on real sightings, phenomena, and legends
from the region.
Join the Appalachian Investigation Group, and utilize various tools and items to collect evidence
and track down creatures. Get paid for successful hunts, and use your money to invest in new
equipment. Creatures are always listening and looking; utilize proximity voice chat and your
radio for communication, but be careful not to attract too much attention...
